The three members of Spun came together in the summer of 1999, making their debut at The Cactus Club in San Jose, California. This renowned venue has hosted such national acts as Nirvana, Matchbox 20, Green Day, Smashmouth, Alanis Morrisette, and many others.



Founding member John Watson, lead vocalist and guitarist, searched far and wide for the right musicians to complete his vision. Bassist Gary Coveney relocated from Boston, and renowned San Jose drummer Aaron Beck joined soon after.



Now in their third year, the band's following has grown exponentially. With a newly released CD coming out, Spun has appeared at many large festivals, performed live radio broadcasts, and continually packs venues from the Bay Area to Los Angeles. Their high-energy, hard hitting melodies and esoteric lyrics combine to create a sound that appeals to a wide range of audiences. All indications are that Spun is poised to take their place among the great California rock bands.
